The English School seeks to appoint a motivated management professional to join the School as Bursar for the 2019-2020 academic year. Previous experience as Bursar is desirable, but not essential. A competitive remuneration package will be paid commensurate with experience.

The Bursar is a member of the Senior Management Team and responsible for all non-academic functions of the School. This responsibility includes a broad range of duties including financial control, budgetary planning, business administration, leadership of non-teaching staff, personnel, site security, maintenance and development of the School’s facilities. The Bursar is also clerk to the Governing Committee.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent financial, leadership and management skills. They will be able to lead the operational management of the School in line with the School’s strategy and contribute to its future development. They will be adaptable, reliable, a strategic thinker, have a passion for efficiency and a strong understanding of IT. With excellent interpersonal skills they will be able to maintain and improve relationships within the School and externally. They will have experience of leading major capital projects.
